On the final page of the sketchbook in BLACK SPACE, HELLMARI can be seen along with SOMETHING.ĭuring the TRUTH segment, HELLMARI can be seen wandering around beside the area resembling a recital stage. Touching her will cause a short jumpscare before she disappears. In the MIRROR AREA, smashing all of the mirrors will cause a distorted version of the mannequin HELLMARI to appear and chase OMORI. If the player opens the door, HELLMARI will not appear. This time, however, if the player ignores her, she will open the door herself and HELLMARI will chase OMORI down the hallway. The player can either open it for her or ignore her. The secret area MARI IS HOME, which can be entered through the BACKYARD AREA, contains an event similar to the first night sequence in which MARI is at a door in a crawlspace under the piano room. In the TOWN AREA, interacting with a specific house causes the mannequin version of HELLMARI to briefly appear while making a screeching noise. OMORI can walk on it, but will be heavily slowed down while doing so. In the PAIN AREA, one of the area's objects is a high-contrast image of the mannequin HELLMARI's head, with her body cropped to resemble SOMETHING. Walking close to it will cause MARI to transform into HELLMARI and lunge at OMORI as a jumpscare before vanishing, the coffin being replaced by the door to BLACK SPACE. Ignoring MARI at the door will not trigger the OMORI ROUTE.Ĭollecting the ninth KEY and entering the hole it leaves behind will play a cutscene where OMORI is falling underwater, and seems to fall into HELLMARI's mouth.īefore entering BLACK SPACE, a coffin with MARI inside will be at the top of a long staircase. If the player chooses to ignore MARI, she will remark that she's cold and HELLMARI will not appear. Additionally, if the WTF VALUE is greater than or equal to 6, HELLMARI will appear on the bed in MOM'S ROOM for 666 frames before vanishing. After this, the next time the player checks the bathroom mirror at night, HELLMARI will be seen standing behind SUNNY. The door will then shut suddenly and HELLMARI's full appearance will quickly flash on screen in a jumpscare. If the player chooses to open the door, a short cutscene will play in which SUNNY slightly opens the door, HELLMARI being visible but mostly obscured. The player will then get a prompt to either open the door or ignore her. If SUNNY goes to check the door, MARI will be outside, saying that she cannot get into the house due to forgetting her keys. When she touches OMORI, however, her face will warp into a similar gaping-mouth expression to the other versions of HELLMARI and the colors of her sprite will become much more saturated.Īfter SUNNY throws up in his bathroom, a knocking on the front door can be heard. She has an elongated neck and she appears to be smiling. She has a normal color scheme which matches that of the real MARI. This version of HELLMARI appears in BLACK SPACE, mostly in the RED MAZE and MIRROR AREA. Her head bears a heavy resemblance to the blue HELLMARI, but she has less hair that is more stringy and rows of sharp teeth can be seen inside her mouth. Unlike the HELLMARI that appears in SUNNY'S HOUSE and RED SPACE, only her head is seen and she has a monochromatic color scheme. This version of HELLMARI mostly appears in BLACK SPACE. She is wearing a white dress, similar to the one MARI's spirit wears and what MARI was wearing when she was hung from the tree. Her head is bent at a sharp angle and resembles a person's broken neck after they are hung. Her head appears elongated and skull-shaped, and she has long, stringy black hair that extends past her visible sprite. She has a large, gaping mouth, and her eyes are replaced with empty sockets she lacks a nose as well. The version of HELLMARI that appears in SUNNY'S HOUSE and RED SPACE is tinted blue, likely due to it being nighttime whenever she appears in these areas. Like many other horror elements of the game, she appears much more realistic than most of the game's contents, likely to scare the player more due to how out-of-place she looks. There are three versions of HELLMARI that appear in different locations throughout OMORI.
